Chapter 10: Henslin; The Sounds of Silence

Body language is very important when making contact with someone. Body language determines what type of mood you’re in or how you are feeling. I honestly feel like my body language is very poor when talking to others. People always wonder or ask me if I am mad or if I’m okay and the reason they ask me this is because I always look like I am mad or it sounds like I am giving attitude. I have been doing this for as long as I can remember. I don’t like showing my emotions really and that’s what it comes down too. I like sticking and keeping to myself. Many people always tell me to open and smile once in a while but this is just who I am and I don’t mean to come off as rude but this is me. One time I took someones body language in a very bad way and that’s because I can see that they weren’t listening to me and what I was saying. It made me furious and I had told them angrily what was the point of you asking me what”s wrong if you’re not listening to what I’m saying. After listening to what she had to say I did feel bad but not too much because she had asked me what’s wrong and didn’t bother to listen because of her own problems which wasn’t right of her to do. We resolved it by telling each other what is wrong with both of us and what was bothering us. It was a good resolution but I definitely don’t take bad body language in a good way when people talk to me. My attitude towards the situation hasn’t really changed because I know myself enough to know nothing will change how I act or feel. I will always continue to keep to myself and keep that smile hidden so no one really knows how I feel.
